The International Film Festival of India, established in 1952, is one of the oldest and a standout amongst the hugest film celebrations in Asia. The celebration is led mutually by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Directorate of Film Festivals and the Government of Goa. From its inaugural edition at Mumbai to its 5th edition, within five years, IFFI became the only Indian member of FIAPF (Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films) and was classified as an “A” grade festival. Post this, the festival traveled to various cities across the country during which the non-competitive, vernacular Filmotsavs were merged to IFFI. Held every year, presently in Goa, the festival celebrates a collage of the best of contemporary and classic films from around the globe. The festival involves an array of world-renowned filmmakers, actors, technicians, critics, academicians and enthusiasts to celebrate Cinema and the Art of Filmmaking through its Presentations, Master Classes & Panel Discussions, Co-production Seminars, etc. IFFI celebrates its Golden Jubilee this year, and will be started on Wednesday, 20th November 2019 in Panaji, Goa and will be continued till Thursday, 28th November 2019. So, expect a grand spectacle from the organizers and an intense zeal from film artists across the globe!
