1. International Film Festival of India, Goa
Goa is one of the most popular destinations for tourists from all over the world but in the month of November, it also attracts a lot of cinema lovers from across the world. The Indian International Film Festival is the oldest film festival of our country, starting in 1925 in Delhi, and then shifted to Goa in 2004. The festival has an eclectic list of film entry categories like Cinema of the World, Elements of Cinema, Documenting the Legends and Memories of Fear under International Cinema and Feature and Non-feature films.
2. Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF)
Dharamshala is a pristine location in the midst of the Himalayas, which is a visual treat in itself. The festival is a nonprofit initiative to promote contemporary and independent cinema that also serves as a platform for Tibetan refugee and expatriate filmmakers in the area to show their talent, apart from Indians. 
3. Kolkata International Film Festival
The festival is inspired by the Bengali masters of cinema it's a week-long festival showcasing various Indian and International films for all the cinema lovers. It features a great selection of commercial, art-house and documentary films in diverse languages. This culturally rich festival is surely a treat along with the scenic beauty of Kolkata.
4. Delhi International Film Festival
The festival showcases films from more than 50 countries and exhibits close to 100 artworks by well-known artists. It is a celebration of Indian cinema, art and culture. If you aspire to be a filmmaker or just love watching unique films, then this festival is for you.
5. Jaipur International Film Festival
If you want to enjoy the rich culture of Rajasthan in addition to some exceptional cinema, this festival is perfect. This festival promotes new movie makers, exchange of knowledge, ideas, information & culture between India & other nations in the context of their social and cultural ethos. 
6. ViBGYOR International Film Festival, Kerala
ViBGYOR is an international documentary and short film competition, themed on Celebrating Identities and Diversities. It explores the broad spectrum of the politics of identities through cinema expressing solidarity. Organized by a collective of the coalition of various institutes and curators, this five-day festival is also known as the largest alternate film festival in South Asia.
7. Woodpecker International Film Festival, New Delhi
The festival showcases the work of filmmakers whose work is based on issue-based cinema or are social commentary. This is one of the biggest film festivals which encourages such category and if you are interested in realistic theme-based cinema work then you'll get to see a lot of different, hardcore and intense cinema.
