Description
The erstwhile residence of Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose (renowned Bengali physicist, botanist and archaeologist), Acharya Bhavan was constructed in the year 1902 and known to have served as the hub of Bengal Renaissance. This is the building where Acharya and his wife Abala Bose played host to many renowned personalities of that time, including Tagore, G B Shaw, Vivekananda, Romain Rolland, Sister Nivedita, Prasanta Mahalanobis, PC Ray and Meghnad Saha. this 111-year-old building has been recently renovated into a museum.
