Description
Known as 'Mother Church of the Indian Armenians', the Armenian Church of the Holy Nazareth is a beautiful place to visit. Possibly the oldest in Kolkata city, this Armenian Apostolic church is located conveniently in Barabazar's northwest corner. The structure that stands today is a reconstruction of the old Armenian Church that was built in 1688 and destroyed after an ill-fated fire incident. The church's holy Nazareth structure and inherent religious significance attracts many visitors from different corners of the state and beyond.
