Description
Birla temple was built by the Birla family in an area of 44 kathas. Started in the year 1970, the construction of the temple took 26 years to complete. Dedicated to Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha, this temple is visited by countless devotees and visitors every year. Built of white marble, this temple boasts of brilliant Rajasthani temple architecture. On the left and right sides of the temple shikhar (dome), there are idols of Goddess Durga and Lord Shiva, respectively. In appearance, the temple resembles Bhubaneswar s renowned Lingaraj Temple. Stone engravings that bear pictorial depiction of scriptures of the Bhagavad Gita add grace to this iconic religious edifice. Designed by architect Nomi Bose, this temple is truly worth a visit.
