Description
As the name suggests, Broken Bridge collapsed in 1977 due to strong river currents and since then it has never been reconstructed. What was initially developed to assist fishermen to cross their path from Santhome Beach to Elliot's Beach via tricycles and rickshaws has now become one of the popular tourist attractions in Chennai. It is not just youngsters you would often spot here but it is also a favourite shooting location with many Tamil film directors. Overlooking the Adyar estuary, the bridge offers picturesque views, especially that of sunrise. Many people visit this place in the morning to view a clear sunrise.
