Description
Standing in the middle of Hussain Sagar Lake, a popular tourist place in Hyderabad, Buddha Statue is one of the major attractions of Hyderabad. With a height of 72 feet (22 meters) and a whopping weight of more than 450 tons, Buddha Statue has the fame of being the largest single stone statue of Buddha not just in India but also in entire world. It is placed on the Rock of Gibraltar in the Hussain Sagar lake. Although planned to place it on the centre of the lake, this statue was placed slightly closer to the NTR Memorial Gardens owing to a few engineering hurdles.
