Description
A testament of rock-like faith, indestructible hope and incredible charity the Mother House of the Missionaries of Charity was home to the Nobel Peace Prize awardee - Mother Teresa. At present, this house is the headquarters of the Missionaries of Charity's international religious congregation. For visitors, only Mother Teresa's Tomb, the museum and her room are open. The tomb, where Mother Teresa was buried on 13th September, 1997 is on the ground floor. People belonging to all creeds come to offer prayers and meditate here. In adjacent to the tomb, there is a small museum that exhibits Mother Teresa's handwritten letters, exhortations and personal belongings, including sari, crucifix and sandals.
