Description
Situated atop Moula Ali Hill, Moula Ali Dargah is a famous place of religious importance. This dargah was built in the memory of Hazrat Ali- the son-in-law of Prophet Muhammed. Established during the reign of Asaf Jahi, this mosque is identified as one of the 11 heritage sites by the Heritage Conservation Committee of Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA). The gates of the dargah are open four days in a month for non-Muslims. The path leading to the dargah is rocky with an unsteady turf. For the convenience of pilgrims, around 400 steps have been built. It is believed that the entrance of the dargah has an impression of the palm of Hazrat Ali. This belief adds to the spiritual significance of this place.
