Description
Situated in the temple town of Nanganallur in Chennai which was once a thick forest and residing ground for many tapasvis, Sri Uttara Guruvayurappan Temple boasts of finest Kerala architecture and the inauguration of the temple was done in April 1975. The temple was named so because it is located in the north direction of the main temple in Kerala and houses the deity Sri Guruvayurappan. Legend says that a tapasvi named Bilwamangal dreamed of the Lord who assured him that a temple would be built in Nanganallur. Hence, an idol of Bilwamangal is placed in the front side of the namaskara mandapam.
